URBIA — Contemporary Design for Everyday Living
There is a place for the extraordinary object—the piece that commands attention, carries a designer’s signature, or changes the way we experience a room.
And then there is the furniture we live with every day.
The chair we pull up to the table. The sofa that anchors the room. The piece that needs to look good, feel good, hold up, and make sense within a real budget.
That is what makes Urbia interesting.
Craftsmanship Matters
Everyday living doesn't mean ordinary design.
Part of what draws us to Urbia is the attention to material, craftsmanship and form. Wood, stone, concrete, cane, ceramics and upholstery appear throughout the collections—not simply as finishes, but as part of the character of the furniture itself.
That story becomes especially interesting in Urbia's Brazilian collections. The Modern Brazilian Collection draws from Brazil's rich modernist design tradition, while SIER, presented by Urbia in the U.S., brings decades of Brazilian furniture-making and craftsmanship into an extensive, highly customizable collection.
The result is furniture that can live comfortably in the everyday while still bringing something considered to the room.
Urbias' collections bring a contemporary point of view without making design feel precious. Forms are clean but not anonymous. Materials bring texture and warmth. Many pieces are suited to both residential and commercial environments, while pricing makes strong contemporary design considerably more approachable.
There is also range. Sculptural upholstered seating sits alongside tables, outdoor pieces, concrete forms and collections produced in Brazil—allowing very different spaces to speak a contemporary language without all looking the same.
Design doesn't have to be complicated.
Sometimes it is simply about finding a better version of the thing you already need.
A chair with a stronger silhouette.
A table with better proportions.
A material that brings something unexpected to the room.
Pieces that work hard without disappearing.
That's the territory we're exploring this week with Urbia.
